How will you replenish this weekend?

Happy Friday, dear ones!

The picture above is one of many beautiful sunsets last week in the Town of Seventeen Seventy, where I enjoyed wonderful company, a largely deserted stretch of pristine Queensland beach, unreliable internet (which forced me to turn away from my screens), and some truly droolworthy food, the best of it cooked on a little Weber in the fresh evening air.

Relaxed? If I was any more relaxed I’d have stopped breathing!

And then came my re-entry home, a grumpy man-child, a messy house and on Tuesday, my COVID booster — which knocked me sideways! Apart from a couple of coaching client sessions, I’ve done nothing but sleep.

I know I’m privileged to be able to simply pull up the doonah and sleep, and I’ve had time and opportunity to reflect on what I’d have done differently this time last year, which would have looked much more like “manfully” battling flu symptoms while directing a high-performing team who nevertheless needed my attention, smiling calmly all the while because that’s what Women Leaders do.

Isn’t that what we do? Isn’t that what YOU do?

I’ll bet you’ve been doing that all week, with or without flu symptoms. I’ll bet you’ve been juggling issues ranging from wild weather to COVID risk mitigation to return-to-school dramas to cost-of-living pressures to work demands to ageing parents’ needs to…

Can you replenish this weekend?

Can you give yourself just one hour of unstructured, unplanned, uninterrupted time to breathe? To snuggle? To decompress? To let go, before it all begins again?

What would that look like? When could it happen? Where could it happen? How would it feel, to make it happen?

I sincerely wish you can make that time this weekend. You need it. You deserve it. You’ll be better for it, and so will those around you.

Go gently xxx
